It’s hard to find green in the desert – grass, trees, and beautiful lush greenscapes are evasive. We trend away from green in the desert towards, well, brown. Brown can be a beautiful neutral color for desert family photos, of course, and especially in the fall it can almost (almost) look like fall colors when sunset light turns those browns to gold and ochre and russet. But green in the desert? Good luck unless you live on a golf course! Or….unless you know someone.
I had the pleasure of photographing this family this summer and green was the color of the day. Denise Kiewel is a fantastic realtor here in Tucson and she was a feature in the Real Producers Magazine. But it so happens I know Denise – I did senior pictures for both her daughters! See here AND here to see the beautiful girls! But it was great to get to meet the whole family and capture these images for them at her oldest daughter’s home. And that is where we get green in the desert – by finding a private oasis.
It really was fantastic to get to photograph the whole family and explore such a beautiful location! I loved the colors they wore – so vibrant! Pink and blue really popped against the colors of the location. And of course they all looked gorgeous because they are!
