sometimes (all the time!) photography is an adventure – never more so than when you spend 20 minutes trying to find the barn you were looking for only to end up deep in the woods of South GA in some else’s back yard and have it be the perfect location (luckily the someone else was kind enough to let us use his property!). I don’t think I could find this place again if I tried – but it ended up being the perfect session, with the absolutely most adorable little girl and her family. I couldn’t have asked for anything better!

    I think she was winking at me! When is the best time to take newborn photos? Honestly, when the baby *and you* are ready. I always recommend it within the first 2 weeks of life, but so many factors affect this decision. Bottom line, schedule it when you have the chance, but also while you have the chance - and don`t worry about the perfect timeline. What matters is that we get those photos (they`ll be one before you know it!).

    I always love a good father-son photo. I do get the question a lot, "Should parents be in the newborn photos?" and my answer is always yes, if you`re comfortable. I think capturing the moments with the parents - together and individually - makes for a very special capture that you`ll have as a memory for years to come.
