I love when the whole family makes the time to have photos done at Catalina State Park. As the children grow and as families grow with them, it becomes harder to get everyone together, smiling, and wearing coordinating colors. But when it happens, it is so worth it.
This beautiful family session took place at Catalina State Park in Tucson, one of my favorite spots for outdoor family photography. The wide-open desert views, stunning mountain backdrops, and golden light make it a dream location for portraits. In the fall, Catalina State Park transforms into the perfect mix of warm tones and soft desert greens – an ideal setting for timeless family images. It’s even a beautiful spot for a wedding!
One of the reasons I recommend Tucson state parks for family sessions is the variety of natural scenery. From winding trails to open fields, from towering saguaros to soft sunset skies, every background feels unique. Families can explore, laugh, and relax, which leads to more natural and genuine photos.
If you are planning your Tucson family photos, fall is one of the best times of the year. The weather is cooler, the light is softer, and the desert glows at golden hour. Whether we meet at Catalina State Park or another beautiful Tucson location, my goal is always to capture your family as you are – full of love, laughter, and connection.
If it has been a while since your last family session, now is the perfect time to plan one. These moments become the memories you will treasure for years to come. Let’s capture them together.
