I first had the opportunity to capture Natalie when she was about 6 months old…and then I had the chance to catch her one year birthday photos right before her family moved to Las Vegas. But thanks to my annual attendance and teaching gig at WPPI I was fortunate enough to capture her 2 year session as well – in a totally different environment! And, as it turns out, an almost completely different child! What a grown-up little girl she was…into princess skirts and sticks that double as magic wands, totally resistant to anything in her hair (amazing I was able to do any at all!) and majorly lovin on her mama in between fussing to be put down.
This session had an essence to me. Essence of two year old whimsy, all warm and butterscotch with backdrops of desert orange and brown, and little girls who are curious and who are maybe a little unsure about the footing in this new environ. But it worked. Beautifully. And maybe says a little bit about who Natalie is at two. And a little about who she’ll be three, five, or fifteen years from now.
