This is one of my favorites from a recent portrait session I did in Valdosta in my studio. I really love how the shadows and the light serve to create an air of mystery but not, I think, of a sinister type. This is the kind of lighting I love working with – I think it’s so moody and flattering at the same time.

I always love a good father-son photo. I do get the question a lot, "Should parents be in the newborn photos?" and my answer is always yes, if you`re comfortable. I think capturing the moments with the parents - together and individually - makes for a very special capture that you`ll have as a memory for years to come.
