The moments in between the smiles are just as viable and true and real in photography as the “perfect” ones. Imperfect is perfect, to me, and with children under 3 (or let’s face it, any age!) the shyness and sometimes even the sheer unwillingness to smile can be frustrating. OR it can be fabulous. The key is to be ready to take all the moments, as they come, because they are the story, too.
