These Tucson Studio Maternity photos were some of my favorite because even though you can’t tell, the studio I had set up was outside in my private back yard! For the dress this client wore a blue maternity dress from Sew Trendy Accessories, and because it was a dress with a lot of fabric, I needed more room for the dress to spread out – more room than I had available inside. Normally I have a studio inside my home – it’s the perfect space to offer Tucson studio maternity photos (and I also offer Tucson newborn photos inside my studio (or in my client’s homes)). But because the home I live in is set up the way it is, I don’t have the space to create a backdrop that is long enough to fit a dress that spreads out almost 16 feet total! So I used my black backdrop, which is capable of being that large (it’s a large canvas fabric that is mostly wrinkle free), and I set it up outside with an overhanging scrim to block the sun. I am not sure it’s the way I want to photograph forever, but it offered me an opportunity for a challenge that turned into a success!
When I do Tucson studio maternity photos, it is often because the client is looking for something a little more like boudoir photos. Here are 2 examples outdoor Tucson maternity sessions I do! This one was a very (light wise) dramatic maternity session in terms of lighting and location, and this one was at the same location but has a very soft feel!
