These gorgeous in-home Tucson adoption newborn photos made me swoon. When this loving family welcomed their second child into their lives, I was there. The session occurred only days after he was born and literally 3 days after they brought him home. This first image above might be my favorite from the session. Oh, to sleep like a baby in all the soft, cozy blankets and not be judged for showing my rolls! Ha!
One of the things I loooved about this session was the color vibe. The soft blue greens and browns but also the cream and orange mixed in. It was the perfect color palette for this family and even their decor matched their clothes for these Tucson adoption newborn photos. But the thing I loved most about this family was their adoption story. They worked with a local adoption agency called Adoption Choices of Arizona and were lucky enough to get matched within months! And here is what mom had to say when I asked her to write something about the adoption experience:
“When we found out we couldn’t have any more children, we immediately knew that adoption was the avenue we wanted to navigate to expand our family. Our adoption journey was actually very fast, only two months before we were matched with our birth mom! We flew to another state once our son’s birth mom was in labor and we met our sweet boy 30 minutes after he was born. The emotions we felt in that moment are unexplainable, there was instant connection! Transracial adoption needs a support system from those who have traveled this path: reading, educating, learning from mistakes, and most importantly lots and lots of unconditional love. Daniel completes us and he is the biggest blessing to our family.”

Sibling love is the best and big sister H was so in love with her new baby brother! She wanted to hold him in all the photos and was so good with him!
Big sister planned this one! She actually had picked out a photo ahead of time that she wanted to do, and we did it. And it was perfect!!
What I love about this image is that it’s very real life – they are engaging with each other, it’s not perfect, and even the family dog makes an appearance.
There is nothing more precious than a mama with her new baby.
This was the best bassinet and I just had to get a photo of baby boy D inside. He’s even smiling a little! And that swaddle matched perfectly! I am loving the new swaddles these days – they are almost as cute as the baby wraps I use like these on Etsy!
